Self-hosted software, built in the Canadian Rockies.
Oesa Labs is an independent software studio. We build self-hosted tools for infrastructure, publishing, and personal computing: software shaped by real systems, real constraints, and long-term use.
01 Current work
Fairview
BetaA local-first control plane for AdGuard Home fleets.
Fairview watches every AdGuard Home server you run, captures configuration snapshots, shows drift against the configuration you want, and applies changes only through a previewed, approved, rollback-capable plan.
Elixir · Phoenix LiveView · PostgreSQL · Oban · Not yet public
Summit
BetaA self-hosted home for bookmarks and browser state, with an openly specified sync protocol.
Summit is the reference implementation of the Summit Protocol: an authoritative, self-hosted library for bookmarks and browser state across browsers, devices, and people, synchronized through one tested mutation path and openly versioned contracts.
Elixir · Phoenix · PostgreSQL · Oban · Source release planned
Timberline
Active developmentA secure publishing platform that turns a private CMS into immutable public releases.
Timberline separates writing from serving. Editors work in a private CMS; the public site is built as an immutable release artifact and promoted by moving an atomic pointer, so serving never depends on the CMS, the database, or Git being online.
TypeScript · Payload CMS · Astro · PostgreSQL · Not yet public
Pika Suite
BetaA private-first personal cloud: mail, calendars, contacts, tasks, notes, and files on one backend.
Pika Suite is a self-hostable personal cloud platform. One canonical backend serves first-party web and desktop clients alongside the standard protocols your existing apps already speak, so private infrastructure does not mean proprietary silos.
Elixir · Phoenix · PostgreSQL · React · Source release planned
02 How we work
- You should be able to run it yourself. Every self-hosted product is built to operate on hardware you control; cloud deployment is a choice, not a requirement.
- Changes are previewed, approved, and reversible. Control planes show the exact diff, keep rollback evidence, and record an audit trail.
- Secure defaults, honestly documented. Fail-closed writes, scoped tokens, and limitations stated plainly rather than polished away.
03 Toward open source
Several projects are being developed toward public release under OSI-approved licences. The oesalabs GitHub organization hosts them as they publish, and the open source page tracks what is planned, what is licensed, and what is not there yet.
